Coalesce

Glasgow Print Studio First Floor Gallery
Exhibition Runs: 5th - 28th June 2015

Preview: Thursday 4th June, 6-8pm (Trongate 103 1st Thursday)

Artists: Andreas Behn-Eschenberg, Alistair Gow, Sophie Hopkinson, Alex Kuusik, Lydia Levett, Abigale Neate-Wilson, Lewis Miller, Moira Watson, Craig Wright.

'Coalesce' brings together nine emerging artists whose work, while disparate, shares a common sensibility and spirit. Working in sculpture, painting and print, these early career artists explore modernism, mark making and materials. Working from different exploratory outposts, the group have coalesced to form this exhibition.

The show includes several artists who took part in RSA New Contemporaries, as well as four prizewinners selected by GPS from Glasgow School of Art who lost much of their work in the fire (some reconditioned pieces from which will be seen for the first time here) and some new bright talent from the Glasgow Print Studio workshop.

Featured Artist - Ian McNicol

This show features a series of new landscape etchings and monoprints which take their inspiration from the south west of Scotland, Ayrshire, where Ian now lives with his family.
