Glasgow Print Studio Ground Floor Gallery
18th July - 15th August 2014

An international residency programme to support new work in print by artists from Scotland and Commonwealth countries, commissioned by the Scottish Print Network.

We are pleased to announce details of a presentation of new work in print by outstanding national and international artists commissioned by Below another sky and the Scottish Print Network.

To mark Culture 2014 and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, we will host a changing presentation of over 16 new limited edition prints in our ground floor gallery. This will begin on 18th July, changing each week over a four-week period.

These works were produced as a result of an ongoing series of international residencies: 10 artists based in Scotland were invited to travel to a Commonwealth country for residencies leading to the development of new work in print with one of Scotland’s five professional print studios; 10 artists based in or originating from Australia, Canada, India and Pakistan have been invited to travel to Scotland, to work directly with one of the studios.

Glasgow Print Studio First Floor Gallery

As part of Generation: 25 Years of Contemporary Art in Scotland, Glasgow Print Studio is delighted to present Meaning Inc., an exhibition of new and recent work from Glasgow based artist Michael Fullerton featuring portraits of figures “who embody political commitment or represent strong ideological positions.” Meaning Inc. expands the artist’s ongoing investigation of media, technology, and justice with an exhibition that questions the social or civic relevance of art in the age of information and mass media.

Generation is an ambitious and extensive programme of works of art by over 100 artists in over 60 galleries, exhibition spaces and venues the length and breadth of the nation taking place between March - November 2014, with the majority of exhibitions taking place over the summer of 2014, as part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme.
