Eileen Cooper
anCnoc Long Gallery at the Tron
Exhibition Runs: Tues 18th December 2012 – Sun 10th February 2013
Eileen Cooper's prints are steeped in a distinctive expressionism; her highly personal style always reflects stages in her own life that readily associate with archetypal themes and mythologies.
A playful spirit pervades the recent work. Eileen's figures are depicted with a linear vibrancy and a luminosity that is explosive in its aliveness, its passion and its tenderness.
These are the very qualities that inform so much of her art, which at the same time reveals a strong academic training and continuous references to non-European cultures that serve to direct her work towards new and surprising discoveries.
